On the SpotWhat's your best method of moving attendees from prefunction areas to the main event?

"For small to midsize meetings, I like to use the hotel staff, coupled with the sound of chimes, but for large meetings, conventions and trade shows, I prefer to have eye-catching entertainment like a brass band, stilt walkers, etc., to direct folks to the main event."

"Usually, I just announce that dinner is on its way. Most of the attendees will listen, but there are always a few stragglers who lag behind. We just get behind them and round 'em up."

"We tend to do everything right in the hotel, so guests know what room they will be in for seminars. For dinner, we'll announce over the microphone that it's time to eat, but we always have to blink the lights five minutes beforehand to get their attention. Of course, the bartenders will tell them it's last call. That always helps."
