FAA Lifts Ban on Air Travel to/From Turkey

Yesterday, the U.S. State Department announced that "Normal flight operations for all carriers between the United States and Turkey have resumed." The notice rescinded a July 16 ban instituted by the Federal Aviation Administration on U.S. airlines from flying to or from Istanbul and Ankara airports in Turkey, or for any carrier to fly into the U.S. from anywhere in Turkey, due to the attempted military coup of July 15. The updated notice continued to caution U.S. citizens to avoid travel to southeastern Turkey due to "increased threats from terrorist groups." The full update can be found here.
