American Express Global Business Travel has named Philippe Chérèque as president. Chérèque, most recently the company's chief commercial and technology officer, steps into the newly creative position immediately.
Chérèque will continue to oversee the company's commercial and product technology divisions, while also taking on responsibility for supplier relations, marketing and consulting.
"Philippe's new role is part of our larger strategic imperative to restructure our commercial group into regional teams in an effort to better serve our customers," said Doug Anderson, the recently appointed CEO of American Express Global Business Travel. The new structure, added Anderson, will foster a closer working relationship with customers.
In terms of regional sales, Elyes Mrad and David Reimer will continue to lead sales in the EMEA and APAC divisions, respectively. Chérèque will lead sales in the Americas on an interim basis.
