The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has compiled resources for travelers and clinicians regarding locations where the Zika virus is active, travel advisories and other up-to-date resources at cdc.gov/zika.
Marriott International also has released a statement concerning its properties in the affected areas: " Our hotels in the impacted areas are taking precautions, including fogging of outdoor areas, providing mosquito repellent for guest use, addressing areas of standing water, educating our employees on the virus and making information available to guests. We are monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other international health organizations, as well as our corporate and regional teams."
Per the CDC, the virus currently is being actively transmitted in the following countries and territories. While no locally transmitted Zika cases have been reported in the continental United States, individual cases have been reported by returning travelers, and those numbers likely will increase, notes the agency, and could result in the local spread of the virus.
