Aloha Garden Pavilion Ritz Carlton Maui Kapalua

At Hawaii's 466-room Ritz-Carlton, Maui, Kapalua, the 19,200-square-foot, indoor/outdoor Aloha Garden Pavilion has been redesigned. The event space now features a new interior with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, folding glass doors opening onto a garden, a terrazzo-paved walkway, two firepits and a trellis with glass canopies.

The property, just three miles from Kapalua Airport, offers a total of 33,455 square feet of meeting space, including a 15,288-square-foot ballroom. Extensive outdoor areas also are available for groups; for instance, the Plantation Grove, at 130,680 square feet, can host events of any size.

Last year, a $100 million renovation was completed at the Ritz that touched all areas of the property. A new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge was added, and a new room offering, the Fire Lanai Collection, debuted with private outdoor lanais and firepits.

This resort is one of six Ritz-Carltons that offer the Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ambassadors of the Environment program, which uses guided excursions to explore the local setting. Activities here include a tide-pool hike, an e-bike outing and an underwater expedition to coral reefs.

The Banyan Tree is the property's main eatery, now serving a menu of Hawaiian coastal cuisine with items such as watermelon tomato caprese, coconut shrimp ceviche and coriander-za'atar-crusted seared ahi. The oceanfront Burger Shack's alfresco dining features colorful cocktails, cold beer, thick milkshakes and signature burgers. Guests can also get a meal packed here to take away to Kapalua Beach. The breakfast-only Ulana Terrace overlooks the gardens, the pool and the ocean and offers traditional and local favorites.
