The 286-room Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter wrapped up an extensive, $22.5 million renovation project that introduced a contemporary, relaxed Southern California aesthetic, as well as a new restaurant.

The new look is evident upon entering the lobby, which has been transformed into an open, flowing public space for socializing or work, with convenient proximity to food and cocktails. The focal point of the space is a carved maple-wood wall with abstract, organic shapes and patterns. Elongated curved sofas, marble tabletops, and rattan and wicker seating are available in the lobby and throughout the hotel's spaces.

“We are excited to showcase our beautiful hotel in downtown San Diego,” said general manager Francesca Ramirez. “We look forward to being the preferred hotel for travelers who want to work and play near the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park Stadium, Broadway San Diego, the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park and more.”

New On-Site Restaurant

The new eatery, the Wild Hare Bar Garden, is a whimsical place that highlights executive chef Emiliano Sotelo's California cuisine, featuring locally sourced meat and produce, as well as organic ingredients from the on-site herb garden. Rabbit themes and puns abound, with a menu that prominently features carrots, and cocktails with names like Lucky Foot (Cutwater mezcal, carrot juice, lime and jalapeño) and I'm All Ears (vodka, fresh strawberries, lemon juice, orgeat syrup and bitters).

Wild Hare Bar Garden continues the lobby's open, airy aesthetic, with an outdoor bar and plenty of outdoor seating. A private dining room, with views of the Martin Luther King Promenade and the San Diego Convention Center, is available for cocktail parties or lunch meetings of as many as 38 people. A buyout of the entire restaurant accommodates a maximum of 120 people.

Refreshed Accommodations

All of the property's rooms, suites and lofts are outfitted with Serenity king or double beds, large-screen HDTVs, multifunctional workspaces, mini refrigerators, spacious bathrooms and complimentary high-speed WiFi.

A business center, a market, a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor heated pool and a large terrace are available to all guests, as well, the latter complete with fireplaces and outdoor games.

Meeting and Event Space

In total, the hotel offers 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including eight remodeled meeting rooms. The Gaslamp Room, with a view of the city's iconic Gaslamp Quarter Arch, holds up to 200 people. A starlit terrace has collaborative seating options for groups of various sizes.
