Two One&Only Resorts Planned for Mexico's Pacific Coast

Kerzner International Holdings will develop and operate two new luxury One&Only resorts on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, tripling the company's presence in the country. The One&Only Mandarina resort in the Riviera Nayarit, about 30 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta Airport, will offer 145 beachfront villas secluded in the rain-forest setting, and will include Ocean Cliff Villas, Tree House Villas and Mountain Villas, each offering a different view and atmosphere. An adult pool with private cabanas will be set on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, along with a café and lounge; a beach club and family pool will sit near the ocean. Additional plans call for a conference center, a fitness club, boutiques and multiple restaurants.

The second property, One&Only Santa María de Xala, will be part of a 2,965-acre development about 60 miles south of the Puerto Vallarta Airport. The 75-villa resort will have private pools and encompass about five miles of beachfront, and include a residential component. Plans call for multiple high-end restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, boutiques, and event and meeting spaces. Kerzner hasn't publicized a construction timeframe or opening dates for the resorts.

The 173-room One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos is expected to reopen April 20; the resort sustained damage from Hurricane Odile and is completing repairs and renovations.
