Former Wyndham Irvine - Orange County Airport Rebrands as a Sonesta

The Southern California property offers meeting space 2 miles from John Wayne Airport.

Sonesta Irvine - Orange County Airport

The 335-room Sonesta Irvine - Orange County Airport has debuted, a rebrand of the former Wyndham Irvine hotel. It is the third full-service Sonesta property in California.

The Southern California hotel is in Irvine's business district, just two miles from John Wayne Airport. It offers a fitness center, indoor pool and farm-to-table California cuisine at the on-site restaurant, the Copper Chef Kitchen & Bar. The hotel's 7,500 square feet of meeting space includes the 3,710-square-foot Catalina Ballroom, as well as the smaller Avalon (1,625 square feet) and San Clemente (1,150 square feet) event spaces. The main ballroom can be divided into three spaces, while the smaller ballrooms are divisible by four. Three executive boardrooms round out the meetings offerings.

Sonesta simultaneously debuted its third Chicago property, the Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront, a 334-room rebranding of the former Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront. The rebrands come as a result of the hotel owners, Service Properties Trust, ending its agreement with Wyndham. The company previously had 22 hotels under Wyndham flags, many of which are likely to be sold.
