Loews Hotels and the city of Arlington, Texas, have broken ground on the 888-room Loews Arlington Hotel. The $550 million property, opening in 2024, is part of an $810 million expansion of Arlington’s convention campus, and will connect to the new Loews Arlington Convention Center, which also will open in 2024. The hotel will rise between the city's two sports venues, AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and Globe Life Field, where the Texas Rangers play. A sky bridge will link the hotel to the 300-room Live! by Loews Hotel.
The full-service hotel and convention center will feature 200,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, as well as 66,000 square feet of outdoor function space, including an event lawn. The five restaurants and lounges will include an indoor-outdoor restaurant with two wood-fire pizza ovens and pasta made on-site. A resort-style beach club will offer two pools, cabanas, fire pits and a water slide.
Also on-site when completed will be a residential building with 280 units, and 100,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and coworking space.
“We are thrilled to welcome this new hotel as we continue to build on the economic momentum in our great Entertainment District,” said a spokeswoman for the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Arlington is truly a world-class destination, and we look forward to 2024, when we will see a new convention center and Arlington Loews hotel completed in The District.”
The expansion is the current phase of a $4 billion vision by the city of Arlington, the Texas Rangers, the Cordish Cos. and Loews Hotels that began with the construction of the $250 million Texas Live! entertainment complex, which opened August 2018, and the Live! by Loews Hotel, which opened in August 2019.
