Industry veteran Gary Schirmacher, CMP, has been named CEO of Total Hospitality Industry Solutions, an agency offering sales and marketing representation to hotels and destination marketing organizations.
Gary SchirmacherA well-known industry figure and a frequent speaker at events, Schirmacher brings more than 34 years of experience to his new job. His résumé features prominent positions with Maritz Global Events and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and he has worked in a wide variety of hospitality-related roles, including sales, marketing, operations, strategic development and industry relations.
Schirmacher was chair of the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado from 2002-'07 and was inducted into the Colorado Meetings Hall of Fame in 2011 with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He has served as chair of the Professional Convention Management Association's Education Foundation Board of Trustees, the PCMA board of directors, and advisory boards for a number of destinations and hotel companies. He is currently on the executive committee for the MPI Global Foundation Board, and is chair of the Meetings Industry Fund and the Senior Assistance Center of Metro Denver.
Schirmacher is a member of industry organizations PCMA, Meeting Professionals International, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, the American Society of Association Executives, the Association Forum and the Colorado Society of Association Executives. He frequently volunteers to support both his local community and the hospitality community in general.
