Area15, the experiential art and entertainment complex slated to open in the spring of 2020 in Las Vegas, will have a food hall menu designed by celebrity chef Todd English. The culinary experience -- for which the name will be revealed early next year -- will be a casual dining spot among large-scale art installations, music, performances and other multimedia experiences in the new facility. It will mark a return to Vegas for English, who formerly ran Olives at the Bellagio and the Todd English P.U.B. in The Shops at Crystals. (The latter is now called, simply, The Pub.)

"This partnership with Area15 enables me to create a new, theatrical dining experience that will embody the esthetic of the entire complex," said English. "It's energizing to be part of a project defined by creativity and a sense of the unexpected."

The culinary support is a boon for the new venue, which promises an off-Strip multimedia interactive experience, with plenty of space in the hangar-like building for groups. Area15 will be anchored by the 58,000-square-foot Meow Wolf Las Vegas, an immersive, interactive art space from the Santa Fe-based arts and entertainment group of that name. Installations will fuse architecture, sculpture, painting, photography, video production, mixed reality, music, performance and more.

Other Area15 tenants will include the neighboring Nomadic, which will offer virtual-reality experiences, while the 10,000-square-foot Emporium will be an arcade bar and event venue packed with games, live music, cocktails and local art. Dueling Axes will provide a 6,300-square-foot indoor axe-throwing lounge. All told, Area15 will have 32,000 square feet of outdoor event space and nearly 9,500 square feet of meeting space indoors.

Area15 will also have a corporate hospitality partnership with Hakkasan Group, which will be the venue's preferred caterer for meetings, parties and corporate events. The new venue could be ready to host events as early as February 2020, even before the official public grand opening.
