The vast Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center has debuted in Chula Vista, Calif., flanked by San Diego Bay and the Chula Vista Marina. The 1,600-room hotel has 89 suites, a dozen food-and-beverage outlets, a 4.25-acre waterpark and a whopping 477,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The West Coast's first Gaylord Resort, it's just 7 miles from downtown San Diego.

"Bringing our signature all-under-one-roof experience, and expertise bringing people together for extraordinary experiences to the West Coast for the first time is a proud moment for our team and a meaningful expansion of our portfolio," noted Gaylord Hotels vice president and managing director Johann Krieger. "This opening celebrates a decade-long collaboration with the city of Chula Vista and the port of San Diego, and we’re excited to become part of this vibrant community."
