Disney Welcomes New Additions in Anaheim, Calif.

Disneyland was busy last week, opening the Little Mermaid -- Ariel's Undersea Adventure attraction at Disney California Adventure park, reopening the Star Tours at Disneyland Park and unveiling enhancements to the Disneyland Hotel. Ariel's Undersea Adventure highlights the musical score from the classic cartoon as the attraction takes riders through scenes from the movie. The new ride also can be used as a centerpiece or backdrop for private events of up to 4,000 attendees. Star Tours -- The Adventures Continue reopened after a yearlong renovation and now features digital 3D technology that works in tandem with a revamped motion simulator. The most innovative new feature, however, is the random story generator, allowing for more than 50 different story combinations that take guests through the frozen landscape of Hoth, the cityscapes of Coruscant, the watery world of Naboo and more, depending on the draw. The Disneyland Hotel has added the Frontier Lawn, which holds up to 60 people for receptions and is adjacent to the resort's 136,000-square-foot convention center. Also, the new Adventureland-themed suite debuted at the property, a two-bedroom suite with safari lodge decor from the 1930s and '40s. Two new dining options are the poolside Tangaroa Terrace restaurant and Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar, which channels island lifestyle and Polynesian vibes.
