"In 2007, our association created a Serving Our Community project for our annual meeting. We were in post-Katrina New Orleans, and we worked with the University of New Orleans to clean up the grounds and improve landscaping on the wind- and flood-torn campus. The response from our membership was tremendous, and it has become an annual project."

"I like Food Lifeline, Agros International and Dress for Success, because they have easy, meaningful and tangible ways in which they're impacting both local and global communities. I also find that people are able to establish a connection to these organizations quickly."

"The American Cancer Society is very near and dear to my heart. I am a two-time cancer survivor and the only person out of several stricken family members to survive the horrific disease. This is my third year participating in the ACS Relay for Life, an amazing event and a forum that allows the community to give back in the hopes that we will finally find a cure for cancer."
