Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, Ariz., has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to all 100 guest rooms and public spaces, including the resort’s signature restaurant, SaltRock Southwest Kitchen, and the award-winning Amara Spa.
The property’s refreshed look takes inspiration from the surrounding red rocks and brings the outdoors in to create a tree-lodge aesthetic, using the five elements — earth, wood, metal, fire and water. The sanctuary-like guest rooms feature neutral tones blending with organic textures, and wood elements, such as headboards handcrafted from local fallen trees. New artwork, carpet and linens with bold patterns, geometric shapes and handwoven details contribute to an updated, more modern look. The bathrooms also now have an updated aesthetic, with walk-in showers and rain shower heads.
A new focal point of the lobby is the elongated bar that extends from the adjoining SaltRock Southwest Kitchen to the communal area.
“Amara has long been a favorite destination for travelers visiting Sedona from all parts of the world, and we are proud to showcase this impressive renovation that reflects a more modern and inspired look and feel,” said general manager Nick Solomon. “Those looking for a boutique experience with genuine service will find something truly special here at Amara.”
Inside SaltRock, the entirely revamped space now has more seating, accented by burnt-orange velvet banquettes, Himalayan salt accent walls, a live-edge wood table for community dining, and a more open and inviting bar where bartenders are slinging acclaimed craft cocktails. Just outside, the restaurant’s expansive patio features stunning views of the Cleopatra Red Rock Formation and Snoopy Rock.
The Amara Spa has been upgraded throughout with new finishes and features, including the addition of a 24-hour fitness center and a retail outpost. For meetings, the resort’s five event areas, encompassing more than 4,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, have been refreshed with new carpet and window treatments that frame red-rock views.
