A trio of independently developed boutique hotels are under construction in Boise, Idaho.
The 39-room Avery is repurposing a landmark downtown building where the Blues Bouquet nightclub was the vibrant tenant in the 1970s. The revamped property will feature the 90-seat Avery restaurant and the 70-seat Tiner's Alley gastropub. All will be helmed by Michelin-starred chef and native son Cal Elliott. According to Boise Weekly, Elliott and his wife bought the building in 2015 and have been working on the project since. The hotel is scheduled to open later this year.
The Hotel Renegade opens in 2024. Ground was broken last April on the 122-room Hotel Renegade, developed by Hendricks Commercial Properties, which opened the city's 29,000-square-foot Warehouse Food Hall, housing about 20 food and retail vendors, in July. The hotel, scheduled to open in 2024, will feature a restaurant, a rooftop bar, and a 2,700-square-foot event space with an 1,100-square-foot outdoor patio. The property will sport an industrial look with lots of brick and leather, mirroring the design of the food hall, and will be operated by Hendricks' sister company Geronimo Hospitality Group.
An adaptive reuse of the old Safari Motor Inn will produce the 66-room Sparrow, whose rooms each will have an individual look and feel, with a nod to local design. A coffeehouse in the lobby and a permanent food truck are in the plans for the hotel, which is scheduled to open this fall.
