After celebrating its 20th year in 2025, the Grand Hyatt DFW Airport, inside Terminal D at Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport, now is undergoing a $34 million transformation, which will be completed in early 2026. The propertywide project is updating the hotel's guest rooms and suites, as well as improving the event spaces and adding two rooftop venues.
"We are thrilled to celebrate 20 years of memorable guest experiences, and extraordinary meetings and events," said general manager Jeff Babcock. "On this anniversary, we honor eight colleagues who began working at the hotel when it opened in 2005. Through the years, their combined commitment to the property in food and beverage, events and banquets, housekeeping, and stewarding departments have helped us consistently deliver exceptional service to guests and customers alike."
Aeronautical design with a touch of Texas
When guests enter the reimagined hotel, which is just steps from the airport's security checkpoint in Terminal D, they will be greeted by an upscale lobby with marble tile flooring, dramatic ceiling finishes with enhanced accent lighting, and artwork created by local artists.
The total guest rooms will increase from 298 to 315, and their design will showcase a color palette of subdued greens and shades of natural blues inspired by the western Texas prairies. Guests will enjoy state-of-the-art technologies, including automatic blackout sheers and shades that open when guests enter the rooms, many of which feature views overlooking the DFW runways. The modernized bathrooms will have enlarged vanities, showers and soaking tubs.
Dining reimagined
The Grand Met Restaurant and Lounge will debut an updated culinary experience that celebrates artisanal traditions with international and modern cuisine. Incorporating locally sourced ingredients, the refined dining concept also will feature an acoustic ceiling designed to keep conversations private and the ambience vibrant. Soon to debut are newly designed private and semiprivate dining rooms.
Upgrades for meetings and events
With more than 20,000 square feet of function space, including a 6,600-square-foot ballroom, the updated venues will provide state-of-the-art technical facilities for corporate meetings, elegant social events and sophisticated celebrations of any size. The hotel also will unveil a brand-new top-floor executive boardroom, and a one-of-a-kind indoor/outdoor rooftop space overlooking the airport runways.
