Hyatt Regency Plans November Return to Sydney

After an extended absence, the Hyatt Regency brand will return to Australia's largest city later this year, according to Hyatt Hotels Corp., which announced a November debut for the new Hyatt Regency Sydney.

Currently the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour, the hotel will change brands effective at midnight on Nov. 30. Prior to that, it will undergo a $250 million redevelopment and refurbishment. Currently underway, the redevelopment will add to the existing property a new 24-story tower and 222 additional guest rooms, making Hyatt Regency Sydney the largest upscale, full-service hotel in Australia, with a total of 892 rooms and over 37,100 square feet of new pillar-less meeting space.

Offerings will include a Regency Club lounge, new 272-seat restaurant, and two ballrooms capable of seating more than 1,000 people.
