Bar Juniper at the new Ritz-Carlton, Dallas at Las Colinas
The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, has completed its $55 million transformation from its former life as a Four Seasons with the reopening of the resort pool and the spa. The Irving, Texas, luxury hotel first debuted as the Ritz-Carlton in January of this year.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa & Salon, a 14,000-square-foot facility with a full menu of treatments and services, opened in early May.
The resort pool, to be unveiled this week, has undergone a complete reimagining and now features luxury cabanas, expanded pool deck seating, umbrella-shaded daybeds and poolside food-and-beverage service.
Elevated F&B has already opened
Last week saw the debut of Campo Coffee & Provisions, not your typical hotel java shop. The space has been turned into a European-inspired café with a curated selection of refreshments and gourmet delights, such as freshly baked pastries and elevated grab-n-go options. Espresso, using locally roasted, single-origin Peruvian beans by Noble Coyote, is the go-to coffee obsession. Bites from signature restaurant Knife Italian, a collection of the resort sommelier's favorite wines, and artisanal treats also are available.
Knife Italian, which began serving in March, is the latest restaurant concept from Michelin-starred chef John Tesar,
pairing Italian influences with Texas fare.
Design firms Jeffrey Beers International and Leo A Daly handled the initial phase of updates that opened in January, which introduced several enhancements, including the addition of Bar Juniper, a new lobby lounge spotlighting clear spirits. The 427 guest rooms have been revamped with a nod to the resort's historical roots as the former Little Ranch on the Hills. The propertywide renovation also refreshed the meeting space and state-of-the-art ballroom facilities that span 80,000 square feet.
The second floor's Ritz-Carlton Club offers five daily culinary presentations profiling the quintessential flavors of Texas, as well as invite-only cultural experiences and events.
Texas-sized sports amenities
The property, once home to a major PGA Tour event, has two championship golf courses — the TPC Las Colinas and the Cottonwood Valley Golf Course — and holds a certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Adjacent to the resort is the Nelson Sports and Golf Club, providing guests with access to expansive recreational facilities, such as outdoor tennis courts, racquetball, a world-class fitness center with Technogym equipment, and a group exercise studio featuring classes from aerial yoga to cycling.
