Second Buyer for Atlantic City’s Revel Resort Approved, But Deal Might Still Be Off

A U.S. bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of the shuttered Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City to Florida developer Glen Straub for $95.4 million, but rejected Straub’s request to lower the selling price to $87 million, according to press reports. Straub's attorney said he will appeal the ruling. Revel, which cost $2.4 billion to build, initially had an agreement with Brookfield Asset Management to purchase the gaming resort for $110 million, but Brookfield backed out of the deal in November. Straub was the second bidder for the resort during the auction.
