Last week, Denver International Airport made public the conceptual designs for a redevelopment of the South Terminal, which includes the building of a 500-room hotel and conference center. Included in the plans are a train station to connect the airport to downtown Denver, and a plaza, all to be constructed at a cost of $650 million. A second, $250 million phase of the project will add another parking structure and renovate the Jeppesen Terminal Great Hall. The finances will come from general airport revenue bonds. The new hotel will offer 30,722 square feet of meeting space; more than 43,000 square feet when counting prefunction space.
