Last weekend, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, located in Alberta's Banff National Park, brought the two worlds of our publications Association News and SportsTravel-together by hosting both an association meeting and a sports event (Women's Alpine World Cup). Business types wearing lanyards and athletes and coaches in heavy amounts of ski gear were both found striding through the hotel lobby, which also saw a number of media (including NBC, which will broadcast the upcoming Sochi Olympics) covering the return of Lindsey Vonn to the Women's World Cup circuit. The Lake Louise stop is the only one in which all the participants stay in the same hotel.

Its sister hotel, the Fairmont Banff Springs, located near the town of Banff, has been celebrating its 125th year as the "Castle in the Rockies" with a series of renovations that included the hotel's Royal Suite, Terrace Suites, Rundle Lounge and Waldhaus Restaurant. Also a popular hotel for association meetings, the Fairmont Banff Springs offers 768 guest rooms, 76,000 square feet of meeting space and popular Willow Stream Spa.
