The former Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort, a Spanish Hacienda-style oceanfront property in Oxnard, Calif., will be rebranded following a multimillion-dollar renovation. The Greater Los Angeles-area hotel will debut in October as the Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

The 250-suite resort, on the Pacific between Malibu and Santa Barbara, will offer seasonal SoCal cuisine with its on-site Ox & Ocean restaurant. The menu will be dominated by local seafood and produce harvested from the Oxnard Plain. Sugar Beats, operating out of an on-site converted Airstream trailer, will serve coffee, on-the-go bites, and beer and canned cocktails.

The resort has more than 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including the 3,000-square-foot Playa Vista Lawn alongside the beach. Meetings from 15 to 400 attendees will be accommodated comfortably.

Guests can rent a variety of gear on-site for outdoor activities, including bicycles, boogie boards, longboards and GoPro cameras.
