Zev Lewis is manager of meetings and membership for the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry in Bethesda, Md. He’s been a meeting planner “in earnest” since 1990, previously with the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy in Silver Spring, Md.

How do you spend your free time?
I visit family and friends, and I’m a volunteer for the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, a nonprofit organization based in Rockville, Md., that helps integrate adults with mental disabilities into the community.

How do you spend the day after a meeting?
I go on vacation. The past two years, I went to Maui. This year I’m going to the Bahamas. I like that you don’t have to wear shoes.

How do you de-stress from your job?
At a gag store, I bought a clown; you squeeze it and its eyes and ears pop out. That helps. But as I’ve grown older and lost more hair, I’ve felt less stress. Go figure. I guess that’s what happens with experience.

If your boss granted you one wish as a reward, what would you ask for?
I would take my whole family on a two-week, first-class vacation to Hawaii, because they have been so supportive of me.

If you could change careers overnight, would you?
Yeah, I would. I’d transfer my skills in dealing with people to the entertainment industry. I’d like to be a producer.

If a movie were made of your life, what would it be called?
I guess I’d say The Best is Yet to Come.

DONNELLY JOINS CONFERON IN D.C.
Christina Donnelly has joined the Washington, D.C., office of Conferon, an independent meeting planning firm, as a sales manager. Most recently, Donnelly was an account manager for Avis Rent A Car Systems, also in the capital. She is new to the meetings industry.

LAWRENCE NEW VP AT PRECISION
Lisa Davis Lawrence has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing of Precision Meetings & Events, Inc., in Alexandria, Va. Lawrence comes to Precision from GES in Washington, D.C., where she served as national sales manager. She has been employed in the meetings and conventions industry since 1987.
