Short Lead Times Top MPI's Business Barometer

The June Business Barometer, a bimonthly snapshot of the meetings industry compiled by Meeting Professionals International, shows industry professionals are concerned over the European debt crisis, the upcoming presidential election and the possibility of rising fuel costs. Short lead times, often less than 30 days, also are causing disquiet. The report says ways to mitigate the anxiety include becoming more flexible and smarter with technology, broadening customer and supplier bases, building strong relationships and exposing waste in the planning process.
