Hilton Worldwide to Terminate Agreement with Las Vegas Hilton

Hilton Worldwide announced yesterday that it would terminate the franchise license agreement with the owner and operator of the Las Vegas Hilton by January 1 of next year. According to a Hilton spokesperson, the two parties -- Hilton's HLT Existing Franchise Holding LLC and property owner Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC -- originally had agreed to a termination window of this year, and that Hilton has decided to exercise that option. The spokesperson provided no additional explanation for the move. For its part, the 3,261-room Las Vegas Hilton ownership has had discussions with other brands — and might renegotiate with Hilton, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal
