Hilton Worldwide announced yesterday that it would terminate the franchise license agreement with the owner and operator of the Las Vegas Hilton by January 1 of next year. According to a Hilton spokesperson, the two parties -- Hilton's HLT Existing Franchise Holding LLC and property owner Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC -- originally had agreed to a termination window of this year, and that Hilton has decided to exercise that option. The spokesperson provided no additional explanation for the move. For its part, the 3,261-room Las Vegas Hilton ownership has had discussions with other brands — and might renegotiate with Hilton, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
