Another meetings-focused hotel has entered the downtown Phoenix market: The Denū Hotel & Spa has opened steps from the Phoenix Convention Center, adding 236 guestrooms and more than 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space to the city's convention district.
The property joins the Meritage Collection portfolio and is within walking distance of many of downtown's most popular sports, entertainment and cultural attractions.
“Denū Hotel & Spa represents an exciting addition to downtown Phoenix’s rapidly evolving hotel and resort landscape," says Ron Price, president and CEO of Visit Phoenix. “Business and leisure travelers are increasingly seeking distinctive, elevated accommodations that pair high-quality amenities with memorable experiences. As the first and only downtown property to offer a full-service spa, Denū Hotel & Spa brings something truly unique to the market for today's travelers."
Meeting space with a view
Denū offers 26 indoor and outdoor event venues that accommodate everything from executive meetings and board retreats to receptions, galas and social functions. Key spaces include the Valley of the Sun Ballroom, the hotel's largest venue at 4,070 square feet; the Desert Rose Ballroom and the Four O'Clock Terrace, which combine indoor function space with outdoor event capacity. The rooftop Solstice pairs meeting space with views of the downtown skyline.
Dining, Networking and Social Events
Denū's food-and-beverage lineup doubles as a collection of event venues as well. Sartén Kitchen & Bar offers private dining for executive dinners and small-group gatherings, while the Nidos Rooftop Bar is available for full or partial buyouts and features skyline views, cocktails and shareable plates.
At street level, Blend Café offers coffee, grab-and-go fare and a convenient spot for informal meetings. The hotel also plans recurring programming such as rooftop events, live music and chef-led dining experiences that groups might be able to incorporate into their itineraries.
Wellness takes center stage
The hotel's biggest differentiator, though, might be its wellness offerings. Denū is home to Solstone Holistic Spa, which the property says is the first full-service hammam-inspired spa in downtown Phoenix. The facility includes steam and sauna experiences, treatment rooms, and relaxation spaces designed for both individual guests and groups seeking wellness-focused programming.
Also on-site are a 24-hour fitness center, a yoga studio, and recovery-focused in-room offerings that include red-light-therapy masks, weighted blankets and sound-therapy devices. As planners place greater emphasis on attendee well-being, such amenities could help Denū stand out in Phoenix's increasingly competitive meetings market.
