CO, Denver
The $44 million Residence Inn by Marriott Denver City Center opened
in January. The property features 229 suites and 1,500 square feet
of meeting space.
FL, Orlando
The 394-room Hotel Royal Plaza in the Walt Disney World Resort
reopened in January after closing in August 2004 due to damage
caused by Hurricane Charley. The property offers 17,500 square feet
of meeting space.
KY, Lexington
With 430 rooms and suites and 18,000 square feet of meeting space,
the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort finished a $12.5 million
renovation in January. The resort features a Rees Jones-designed
golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, massage/fitness facilities
and four restaurants.
MI, Plymouth
The St. John’s Golf & Conference Center, which opened about 25
miles west of Detroit in 1999, added its first hotel in January and
renamed the complex The Inn at St. John’s. In addition to the
118-room hotel, the development has 42,000 square feet of meeting
space and 27 holes of golf.
MO, Kansas City
The former Fairmont Kansas City at the Plaza became the
InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza in January. Renovations
will continue through 2007. The hotel has 366 guest rooms and
30,000 square feet of meeting space.

Standing Tall.
Conrad’s first new-build hotel in the United States, the Conrad
Indianapolis, opens this month with 243 guest rooms and 10,000
square feet of meeting space, plus a spa and a French
brasserie-style restaurant. The Conrad is connected by skywalk to
the Indiana Convention Center, the RCA Dome and the Circle Center

MT, Missoula
The 146-room Hilton Garden Inn Missoula, with its Missoula
Conference Center, opened in February with 22,000 square feet of
meeting space, including a 13,200-square-foot ballroom.
NY, Niagara Falls
The 604-room, $200 million Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel has
been opening in stages and should be finished next month. The venue
has a 150,000-square-foot casino, 35,000 square feet of meeting
space and a spa.
VA, Arlington
The $75 million, 336-room Westin Arlington Gateway opens this month
as part of a new mixed-use development in Arlington’s Ballston
neighborhood. The hotel has 10,000 square feet of meeting space,
including a 6,800-square-foot ballroom.
