Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened the flagship Sheraton Stamford Hotel in the heart of the Connecticut city's downtown. The 379-room property features all of the brand's signature elements, such as Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, Sheraton Fitness by Core Performance and the Link Café. The guest rooms have oversized work desks, ergonomic chairs, 37-inch flat-screen TVs and MP3 docking station. For groups, the property offers 13,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space. The restaurant, 700 On Main, serves American fare. The hotel is a few blocks from Stamford's Harbor Point area, where Starwood will open its new global headquarters in early 2012.
