Don Welsh, president and CEO, DMAI
Richard St. Pierre, CEO of C2 Montreal, will deliver the opening keynote, and Chris Gardner, entrepreneur and best-selling author of "The Pursuit of Happyness," will present the closing keynote for Destination Marketing Association International's annual convention, taking place July 11-14 in Montreal.
The multiday conference will kick off on July 11 with two events, the Annual Golf Classic at Golf des Iles and a culinary walking tour, with stops at historic spots and tastings of Old Montreal specialties. Both outings will benefit the Destination & Travel Foundation, the research arm of DMAI.
The opening celebration will be held the evening of July 11 at the historic Old Port of Montreal, where attendees will experience the city's street-festival culture, complete with food trucks, open bars and performance art against the backdrop of jazz, blues and swing. The closing reception on Thursday, July 13, will be held at New City Gas, one of Montreal's top live-music destinations.
"The DMAI and Tourisme Montreal teams are excited to welcome everyone to Montreal for the 2017 Annual Convention," said Don Welsh, president and CEO of DMAI. "This is an exciting time for the association as we begin to implement our rebrand to Destinations International. Together with our members, Destinations International will represent a powerful, forward-thinking, collaborative association; exchanging bold ideas, connecting innovative people and excelling tourism to its highest potential. The 2017 Annual Convention is the launching pad for an exciting future."
