Best Western Expands Scandinavian Footprint With Sweden Hotels Chain Acquisition

Best Western Hotels & Resorts has acquired Sweden Hotels, a 40-year-old lodging company with 59 mid- to upscale business properties scattered across the Scandinavian country. As a result, Best Western is now the largest hotel brand in the Sweden, with 135 hotels.

Sweden Hotels is a collection of independently owned and managed properties, many of which offer conference facilities.

Properties in the Sweden Hotels portfolio now can offer corporate clients Best Western's full support, including its distribution, customer-relations, marketing and purchasing expertise, as well as the loyalty program of the new parent company. Best Western, in addition to growing its regional network, gains more opportunity to expand its new brand, the SureStay Hotel Group.
