Starwood will open its 10th hotel in Brazil early in 2017, in the form of the Sheraton Santos Hotel. The signing marked the first international upper-upscale hotel to be slated for Santos, which is in the state of Sao Paulo.
The 213-room, new-build hotel is part of a mixed-use development that also includes residences, offices and retail establishments. The complex is adjacent to Shopping Praimar, a high-end mall, and is within walking distance of the beach. The Sheraton Santos will offer a restaurant, a lobby bar, a Shine Spa for Sheraton, a pool, a fitness center and the Sheraton Club Lounge.
The new hotel will offer extensive meeting space as well, with more than 15,000 square feet that includes a 5,000-square-foot ballroom.
