We won't argue: The St. Regis New York's King Cole Bar claims to be the birthplace of the Bloody Mary in 1934. Here's their version of the brunch - or any time - favorite:
1 oz vodka
2 oz tomato juice
1 dash lemon juice
2 dashes celery salt
2 dashes black pepper
2 dashes cayenne pepper
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake to mix and strain into a highball glass with ice.
